about Molly Kempson

I have been carving linocuts for 23 years and printing them using letterpresses for 11 years.

Outside of letterpress printing, I am a proud union art educator in Baltimore, Maryland. Of the past fifteen years, ten were spent teaching elementary art, ten teaching non-majors at the University of Florida, eight making art with patients at the bedside in a research hospital. Making art with people and seeing the lights turn on is my happy place.

Most of my work from 2015-2024 is derived by the history and vernacular architecture of American South. The work that is coming in 2026 is around agency, power, privacy, surveillance, and the internet.

Why aren't you posting on Instagram anymore? I will not consent to my artwork being chucked in Meta's slop machine without compensation. I am occasionally active on Mastodon, and I may make a Peertube instance so I can share printing videos. The best way to keep up with me is through my newsletter! I may set up an RSS feed for this site.
